Thank you to all library workers who came out to vote on March 10: despite the many obstacles put in our membership's path, well over half of the membership voted.
The result is an overwhelming mandate for a new library union, and a wonderful mandate to begin bargaining.

We will be asking CUPE to expedite the process of granting final approval to the wishes of the members and early issuance of a new CUPE local charter to the Toronto Public Library Workers Union.
Our 11 years with the Outside Workers benefited both groups and helped us deal with the Harris government and the amalgamation of Toronto, and we have nothing but respect for our brothers and sisters in the Outside Division of Local 416.
