I am very sorry to inform you that Brian Cochrane, one of my closest friends and past President of Local 416 at a time when we were all members of that local, passed away at home this morning with his partner, Maureen, by his side. Our heartfelt condolences go out to Maureen, Brian's two sons, his mother and other family members.
I have no further details but will provide them later. Brian was a great trade union leader, a trusted friend, and a devoted father of two boys through all the trials and stresses of union life. He was a friend of working people and a fighter who many of us have learned from, but whom we can never replace.
