Retroactive Pay 2009
The employer has advised the union that the projected date for the 2009 retroactive pay (the negotiated raise of 1.75%) will appear on the March 26 paycheque. According to the employer, this is the earliest date that payroll can complete this task. The union has raised concerns about the delay and has been in discussion with the employer, although there appears that there may be little recourse at this point. The retroactive pay would appear as income for 2010 tax purposes.
In-Charge Lump Sum Payments
We are aware that the lump sum payments for in-charge duties did not appear on the December 31 pay as it should have. We are in discussion with the employer on this and hope to have an answer shortly.
