Landmark Victory in Ohio for Public and Private Sector Workers!

The U.S. labour movement scored a stunning victory this week as 61% of Ohio voters struck down the anti-union legislation of Governor John Kasich. Earlier this year, thousands of people swarmed the Statehouse in protest when the bill was being heard. Kasich and fellow supporters promoted the law as a means for local governments to save money. But labour and community activists formed a powerful coalition We Are Ohio which painted the issue as a threat to public safety and middle-class workers. It is estimated that both sides spent up to $30 million on the referendum.

Fighting back can work - if citizens work together.......
